1st, 2nd & 3rd grades Lock-In
Well our first lock-in went pretty good! The girls had fun learning about animals, playing charades, having relay races and hearing the story of Zorp. The stayed up late watching movies on tv and got up earlier then expected. Because they were all done with their activites for the night we left a bit early and took the girls to breakfast because they were all starving. They ended up doing more playing then eating but had lots of fun. The brownies got to earn their animals and through the years try-its

Hike Outing
Bright and early the girls got up to go on a morning hike (B-Outdoor Adventure #3). They were SO excited to finally be able to go explore and had been looking forward to the hike for awhile. We found a trail -Dutchman Trail-State Park (B-Arizona #2) in Gold Canyon and it was perfect. The girls hiked up to the ancient Indian hieroglypghs and they all said it was worth the hour hike there. Along the way they looked for different kinds of cactus (B-Arizona #4), tried to spot many different objects along the trail (B-Eco-Explorer #1) and made a list of things they liked about the hike (B-Arizona #6).

Easter Party
Well the Easter Party got rained out! We moved it to the daycare, where we could still grill the hot dogs and have plenty of room. The kids got to do several craft projects while they waited for food. Once everyone had eaten the kids got to do a flashlight Easter Egg hunt and not only look for hundreds of eggs but also their own baskets. The kids said they had lots of fun!

First Meeting-April 9th
We went over the Girl Scout basics. We went over the Girl Scout Sign, Handshake, Motto, Slogan, Law & Promise (B-Girl Scout Ways #2 & D-Promise Center). We talked about Kapers and assigned job duties for the next week (Brownie Beanie Basics #6). We talked about how we could be helpful to a secret pal (B-Caring and Sharing #1) and what if we found a friend needed help (B-Caring and Sharing #3). We decorated a treasure chest to hold all of our favorite things & made a magnet for the fridge with our promise or law on it (D-Promise Center). Our camp fire song of the week was Going on a Bear Hunt. We finished the meeting with our Friendship circle and squeeze.
