Welcome
So in the last couple of months we have added a few new girls to the troop and would like to officially welcome Alexandria (Cadette), Jewelia (Brownie), Ashley (Junior), Sara (Brownie) and Lizette (Brownie). We hope you enjoy Girl Scouts as much as the rest of the girls!
500 Party- Sunsplash
May 22nd Sunsplash
Eleven of the girls headed to Sunsplash to enjoy their 500 party. There was a wave pool, lazy river and plenty of slides to keep them busy. With all you can eat hamburgers and hot dogs the girls were in heaven. No one wanted to leave at the end of the day.

Its Official!
The Phoenix Council told the girls they were the top troop for Brownies in cookie sales this year! Wow 12,000 boxes sold was amazing! The girls will get to pick a special event anywhere in AZ and the council will pay for them to go (up to 50.00). So girls get thinking where would you like to go??
Bridging Ceremony
May 14th,
The girls have finally finished their bridging activities and we went to the Two rivers sponsored Bridging Ceremony at Red Mountain Park. The girls had a quick dinner snack and then they got to walk over the bridge and receive their new vests. The girls were so excited to get their new vests!

Build a Bear
May 8th
We decided to take the girls to the Build a Bear workshop for a special Girl Scout class. The girls were able to pick a bear, stuff the bear, and dress their bear in a Girl Scout Uniform. They had a special host that walked them through the process and even helped the girls earn the math try-it. They measured themselves, guessed how many hearts were in a jar, searched for shapes in the store and did another activity. After we grabbed an ice cream with our teddy bears.

1000 Party-Raw Hide

We had 5 girls attending the 1000 party at Rawhide. First the girls received cowboy hats and bandanas. Then they had a hotdog/hamburger lunch. Then they presented the girls with their awards and 3 of our girls received the 2000 box sold camera which was exciting. Finishing up with some yummy pie we headed out to see what their was to do at Rawhide. The girls started with a ride on a donkey. Then they headed over to the stage coach ride. Went on the train ride next. After all that they braved the rock wall. Stopping to get their desert on the way out the did the bull riding. They also had a station set up where they could try to rope a cow. All in all they had a great day!

Overnight at the Phoenix Zoo
April 10th Overnight at the Phoenix Zoo-Zoo Nights
Well we got all our sleeping bags together and headed to the zoo. We had pizza and lemonade for dinner. Then went for a night hike to see some nocturnal animals and hear some interesting stories about the animals. After the hike the girls all got together in the animal hall and got to see some critters up close and even got to pet a few of them! Back up to where we ate, we had a snack before we grabbed our gear and walked to the campsite. Where we had a huge tent set up for all of us. The staff came in and showed the girls how to make knots and even brought a few more animals with them. Afterwards the girls got to go sit around a camp fire and tell stories, sing songs and learn more about animals. You would think that the girls would be tired with the all the hiking etc but even though it was 11:00 they were all wide awake. Reminding them that they had to be up at 6:00am for breakfast before another hike we tried to get the girls to sleep. Around 12:00 they had all fallen asleep.
Some of us woke up to the Lions roaring at 3:00-5 in the morning. Up early the girls were the first in camp all cleaned, packed and dressed for the morning. They got to wander down and see the rhinos playing in the early morning. After breakfast the girls stored the gear, played a sleeping bag roll up game and headed towards their morning hike. By 9:00 the girls were ready to head home.
